This article by BR24 covers our Founder and Director Mina Chiang’s recent press conference in Germany, where she spoke alongside senior public officials to bring attention to the human trafficking involved in “Pig Butchering” scams targeting German citizens.

Despite the billions in global damages, cases often go unreported due to the shame associated with the crime. Chiang emphasised that victims extend beyond those financially impacted, as perpetrators themselves are often victims of coercion. Investigations face hurdles due to the meticulous concealment of identities and the international nature of the crime. Bavaria’s Justice Minister Eisenreich advised scepticism towards online relationships, cautioning against falling for promises that seem “too good to be true” and urging individuals to report suspicious activity to the authorities.
