Deutsche Welles, a global news TV program broadcast internationally by the Federal Government of Germany, recently covered the issue of cyber slavery in the scamming compounds in Southeast Asia, focusing on the rapidly emerging and interconnected forms of trafficking in the region. The report highlighted the need for source countries to root out the domestic actors responsible for trafficking victims into the compounds. Our founder Mina Chiang and our Survivor Empowerment Officer MD Abdus Salam contributed to the news report, sharing their perspectives of spotlighting the criminals rather than victims and the role law enforcement and international authorities should be playing in cracking down on these networks.
