From Fake Job Ads to Human Trafficking: The Horrifying Reality of the Human Trafficking Scam Trade

This publication by the Mekong Club in collaboration with HRC, The Knoble, and the Anti-Human Trafficking Intelligence Initiative, offers a comprehensive insight into the emerging crime of human trafficking for forced scam labour, exploring the issue from both a counter-trafficking and counter-fraud angle.

The publication discusses how individuals are trafficked into the compounds, tactics used by the criminals to evade detection, as well as the wider impacts on victims from the compounds and of the online scams. Recommendations are also put forward to further efforts in countering the rise in human trafficking and online scams across governments, law enforcement, private sector, and civil society alike.
